Rocks, rocks, and More Rocks
On our way back from El Tatio, we made a number of stops to investigate the rocks in the area.
El Tatio Geyser Field
After a 90-minute drive in the dark, we arrived at the amazing El Tatio Geyser Field as dawn began to fill the sky. Us, plus a few hundred other tourists in their cars and many tour buses. The landscape went through many changes as the sun rose, with the geyesers first becoming very prolific steam-wise as the temperature and relative humidity changed, and finally fading as the sun climbed high and aridity took over.
Pre-Dawn
We are up just after 4am to get a jumpstart on the drive to El Tatio geyser field. A few sleepy faces, but everyone’s up in time and we’re on our way!
